Hello everyone! My name is Morgan and I am finishing up my final semester at UW-La Crosse. I am majoring in Biology with a focus in environmental science and minoring in environmental studies. After I graduate, I am planning on working at the City Brewery here in La Crosse as a quality assurance technician. My goal though is to eventually move to the West Coast and work for the National Park Service. Currently, I am primarily focusing on finishing my studies before I dive into the professional working world!
I am excited to be part of the Driftless Area BioBlitz team and to be able to educate our community about the Driftless Area and everything that comes with it! My focus will be called the Driftless Area BioBlitz Data Bytes! This is a new addition to the blog. I will be focusing in on different taxa identified in not only the Driftless area, but the La Crosse area as well. All of the data I will be pulling from the first iNaturalist project that started March 1st of 2021 and ends this April 30th. Within each taxa, I will name the different organisms that were identified most often and I’ll be providing some cool facts about them as well!
If this sounds interesting to you, make sure to check back on April 7th for my first Data Bytes post!
